Solomon Egbe, Esq. is Corporate Director of Health Safety and Environment for Ports America with over 25 years’ experience in the Maritime Industry. Ports America is the largest Marine Terminal Operator in the US with operations all over the country.
Solomon is an industry leader in corporate culture building, change management process and the development and implementation of key strategic occupational safety, health and environmental business plans to achieve business success and sustained growth. He is serving a second term on the US Maritime Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH), and was appointed by the United States Secretary of Labor to represent the US East Coast Long shoring Industry.
He is a Member of the Technical Committee of the National Maritime Safety Association (NMSA), representing members of the Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore. He a Member of the Environmental Committee of the Baltimore Port Alliance, representing Ports America, and a member of the Port of Baltimore’s Harbor Team which focuses on dredge management and innovative re-use programs. He also serves on various Port Community Boards, including Turner Station Conservation Teams, a group that represents an Environmental Justice Community adjacent to the port, where he serves as a Board Member and Legal Counsel.
Before working with Ports America, he worked with V. Ships, the largest Ship Management Company in the world, for eight years providing operational support to Oil Tankers, Cruise Ships, Bulk Carriers and Passenger Ships that sailed all over the globe.
Solomon did his undergraduate and graduate studies in Marine Transportation and Transportation Management at State University of New York Maritime College, where he also obtained a Merchant Marine Officer’s License, and completed a Juris Doctorate in Law from New York Law School. He is a Certified Port Executive (CPE) and licensed to practice law in New York and Washington D.C. He is fluent in French and English.
