Paul Zimmerman has over 25 years of senior management experience in the seaport industry and is the former Director of Operations for the Port of New Orleans, one of Americas most intermodal deep draft ports with all cargo types. As Director of Operations at the Port of New Orleans, Mr. Zimmermann was responsible for the administration, planning and day-to-day management of all operational and security activities on Port New Orleans owned properties.
Prior to joining the port in 1991, Mr. Zimmermann gained extensive operational and marketing experience with global transportation providers such as American President Lines (APL), International Ship Holdings and Delta Steamship Lines. In addition to New Orleans, Mr. Zimmermann has managed facilities in California, New Jersey, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Mr. Zimmermann serves on the Tulane University Homeland Security Studies Public Advisory Board, the Legislative Committee of the Intermodal Association of North America, the Operations Committee and the Security Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities, the State of Louisiana Governor’s Intermodal Task Force and is President of the Lower Mississippi River Port-wide Strategic Security Committee. He is a member of the World Trade Club, the Propeller Club, and the Louisiana Motor Transport Association.
Mr. Zimmermann has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of New Orleans and attended the Golden Gate University School of International Management in San Francisco, CA.
