Phil Gibbons is focused on implementing the Port of San Diego’s Climate Action Plan, which includes greenhouse gas reductions from the transportation and land use sectors. He is currently working on projects to transition to zero-emission vehicles and equipment in freight movement. Phil also leads the Port’s Climate Adaptation efforts working closely with internal and external stakeholders to plan for climate-related impacts such as sea level rise. In his spare time, Phil is a Board Member of the San Diego Clean Cities Coalition and he served as the Chair of the Alliance of Regional Collaboratives for Climate Adaptation during 2020. He is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Master’s degree in Geography.
