Maynard “Sandy” Sanders CPE
Maynard J. “Sandy” Sanders, Prior to his selection as the Executive Director of the Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District, Sandy served as the Deputy Port Director for the Port of Corpus Christi Authority in Corpus Christi, Texas, directly responsible for Operations, Business Development and Communications.
He is a native of Mobile, Alabama. Following high school graduation form McGill Institute, he received a Senatorial Nomination from John Sparkman to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army and attended the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
1An Airborne and Ranger qualified Soldier, he commanded at the Company, Battalion and Brigade level. As a Brigadier General, he served as the Deputy Commander for mobilization for the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command in Fort Eustis, Virginia and as the Director of the Central Command Deployment Distribution Operations Center in Kuwait. His last military assignment, he served as the Deputy G4 for US Army Reserve Component Integration, Army Headquarters in the Pentagon as a Major General.
He has a master’s degree in Strategy from the United States Army War College and his military awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit Medal.
